Stand with Central American Families

The Administration should uphold asylum protections

As vulnerable Central American families are heading towards the U.S. in search of safety, the administration has responded not with compassion but with a series of harmful policies that only exacerbate their uncertainty and insecurity.

Contrary to the Administration's claims, and based on the IRC's experience in the region, the fears of persecution among those fleeing Central America are very real. Current levels of violence in the Northern Triangle are akin to those in the world’s deadliest war zones—and continue to increase.

Add your name to stand with the IRC in opposing the latest attack on asylum seekers by this Administration and to stay up-to-date on how you can help those fleeing disaster and conflict. People in need of protection have the right to seek asylum in the United States and must not be criminalized for fleeing violence and seeking protection.
The Administration should uphold asylum protections

As vulnerable Central American families are walking towards the U.S. in search of safety, the administration has announced a blanket ban on people fleeing violence and persecution in search of safety in the U.S., clearly violating domestic and international law. This does not address the root causes of this crisis. Individuals in need of protection have the right to seek asylum under international and U.S. law. We urge the Administration to uphold asylum protections.
