The Evaluation Alliance for Human Rights (EAHR) is a constellation of locally-based volunteer networks that provide coordination of free medical and psychological evaluations documenting the visible and invisible wounds caused by persecution, torture, and human rights abuses. Evaluators partner with attorneys who submit these evaluations as expert witness affidavits in support of humanitarian-based immigration cases. These expert medical and mental health evaluations document the impact of human rights abuses and explain these findings to case adjudicators like immigration judges. When a mental health or medical evaluation is submitted as evidence to support an applicant’s claim, it more than doubles their chance of being granted asylum. Your gift to the EAHR program in Seattle will immediately be put to work helping us reach more asylum seekers with this potentially transformational program.
