Donate now to help the IRC in Arizona support children and their families seeking asylum in the United States.
Central American families fleeing violence and persecution deserve a humanitarian response, but are instead held under inhumane conditions when they arrive in the United States. Thousands are released from border processing and detention centers with no means for reuniting with family living across the United States. They are released with no safety planning in place—even for parents traveling with small children and infants. They are provided with little to no vital information about how to follow the legal process for pursuing asylum.
With your support, the IRC in Arizona helps parents and children seeking refuge in the United States to find safety and stability as they await their asylum hearings. We provide a safe space, help to meet their basic needs, facilitate family reunification's, provide an overview of the legal process, and connect them to critical legal services and psycho-social support when they reach their final destination. For families remaining in Arizona to await their asylum proceedings, we provide comprehensive case management services, including psycho-social support.
