Donate now to help us support children and their families seeking asylum in the United States.
Families fleeing violence and persecution deserve a humanitarian response, but are instead often met with fluctuating and confusing US immigration policies, misinformation, and lack of access to services. Thousands are stuck in northern Mexico, where they have faced safety risks such as sexual violence and kidnapping. Those who are processed into the US need information about the legal process, access to humanitarian assistance, and connections to legal and social services in their destination communities.
With your support, the IRC helps families, individuals, and unaccompanied children seeking refuge in the United States to find safety and stability as they await decisions on their asylum claims. We help to meet their basic needs, provide critical legal services, and help them access psycho-social support.
